VanderCook College of Music
TCEP/MCert Talent Award-Assistantship Information
Financial Aid Opportunities (MCert/TCEP Programs Only):
VanderCook College of Music currently offers two types of tuition reduction awards for our TCEP/MCert students:
- Talent Awards – Awards are based on an audition performed for our faculty evaluation panel. New students can be awarded up to $3,500 per year (renewable) and are based on the quality of the audition and the scores received.
- Teaching Assistantships – Awarded to students who apply and qualify based on an assistantship application, interview and review of materials provided by the candidate for acceptance into the TCEP/MCert programs. Teaching Assistants can be awarded up to $4,500 per year (renewable) for 10-12 hours per week.
If you would like to apply for an assistantship, you will need to complete and submit your VanderCook application with all accompanying materials and be formally accepted into the TCEP or MCert program. Accepted students must then communicate interest to the VCM Admissions Office and complete an application and interview for acceptance.
