2026 Summer Strings Workshop
Join us on the campus of VanderCook College of Music in Chicago for an exciting Summer Strings Workshop featuring three distinguished string educators, Dana Green, Dr. Yvonne Davila-Cortes, and Doug Bistrow! Dana Green, accomplished violinist, conductor, and Director of Orchestras at Vernon Hills High School, will share his expertise in building award-winning string programs and inspiring young musicians. Acclaimed bassist Doug Bistrow—an Eastman School of Music graduate and member of the Chicago Philharmonic—will guide a dynamic and inspiring string session. This workshop is designed for string players who are looking for a unique opportunity to enhance your knowledge of string setup, conducting, rehearsal techniques, and classroom management. Don’t miss the chance to learn from leaders in the field and take your teaching to the next level!
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This workshop is not designed for ‘non-string’ players. Evening activities will include concerts and events in Chicago. Participants will earn two graduate credits or professional development hours.
