Summer Housing, Dining & Parking

Parking Information

On-campus parking is available 24 hours per day. Hourly/daily/weekly rates are available at pay stations.  Additional parking information can be found here.

Summer Housing

Students in both the MMEd and MECA programs have two options for on-campus housing:

  •  Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) welcomes students from VanderCook College of Music to experience the convenience of living on campus during the summer of 2024.  With modern residence hall options, a world-class campus center, several dining options, and easy access to downtown Chicago, IIT offers all the benefits of home in the heart of the city.  Students will live in IIT’s Rowe Village Middle (formerly State Street Village or SSV).  Amenities for each unit include air conditioning, wireless internet, Comcast Xfinity cable, on-site laundry facilities and 24-hour security.  Access to a community kitchen is also available.
  • Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) Residence Complex also offers housing to students.
    The Residence Complex (RC) is a smoke-free and drug-free facility located at 3241 South Indiana Avenue.  It is a safe and secure complex with 24/7 security.  More information regarding ICO housing & how to book a room is available here.

MMEd Student Housing Registration

(Two Options: IIT Housing or ICO Housing)
  • IIT Housing:

    Summer MMEd residency students should register for IIT housing through their VanderCook Student Portal.  Check the appropriate box for single or double occupancy room.  IIT will receive all requisite information from the college.  Please do not use the “Housing Registration Through IIT” button or link.

    • 2024 Rates
      • Double Room- $435.00 per person per week
      • Single Room-$765.00 per person per week

        Please note that single rooms will still have a shared bathroom.

      • Meals –  register for meals through the VCM Student Portal as well.

        • Meal ticket prices, there is a 5 meal minimum.  

        • Breakfast- $9.00

        • Lunch-$13.00

        • Dinner-$13.00

  • ICO Housing: Students who wish to register for housing through ICO may contact Debra Albers at [email protected] to book a room.

MECA Student Housing Registration

(Two Options: IIT Housing or ICO Housing)

IIT Housing Registration coming soon!  ICO Housing available now!

  • IIT Housing: Summer MECA residency students should register for housing through IIT by clicking on the “IIT Housing Registration” button below. Meal tickets are required for housing. There is a five meal minimum.
  • ICO Housing: Students who wish to register for housing through ICO may contact Debra Albers at [email protected] to book a room.  See ICO Housing Information for MECA.

Additional information:

  • All MECA program room reservations should be made at least two weeks prior to check-in dates.  Early reservations are advised!
  • Check-in for both MMEd and MECA students is in the Rowe Village Middle lobby for IIT housing.  Look for additional information from IIT after you have registered for housing through the appropriate link.

Rooms

A standard double room includes two twin beds, desks, chairs, built-in closets, shared bathroom, kitchen and spacious lounges throughout the hall.  Linen packages are available free of charge.  Linen packages include a blanket, pillow, two sheets, pillowcase and towels.
