VanderCook Alum Receives Golden Apple Award

May 21, 2014 12:49 PM
Dear Dr. Menghini, Dean Rhodes,
I have just been awarded the golden apple award for teaching excellence. I have linked the NBC video from the surprise as well as a nicely written article
My graduate studies at VanderCook gave me the tools, techniques and resources to do my job at a high level. Your educational leadership and and amazing faculty at VCM always left me inspired, refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to jump back into the 'trenches'. In fact, I learned so much and enjoyed my classes so much that I kept coming back even after my Masters to take MECA classes!
This is only the start of the events and celebrations that will come out of this recognition (film footage will start to be compiled through the semester and the awards ceremony will be on WTTW in Fall), through it all, and to the media, I will be paying homage to my outstanding graduate education and faculty at VanderCook.
Thank you again Dr. Menghini and Dean Rhodes for everything you've done and continue to do to further the cause, reach, scope and quality of music education.  Do let me know if there is anything I can do to further your mission and message. I am proud to be part of your story. Video and story linked below.
