VanderCook Alum Inspires Memorable Performance

Support is pouring in for Michael Gibson (B'05) and his high school vocal ensemble Musicality.  The group performed live Tuesday evening on America's Got Talent. Their inspiring performance earned them a standing ovation and overwhelming praise from each of the four celebrity judges.  Their hard work and preparation paid off and the group was selected to advance to the next level. Musicality is a volunteer ensemble that was created after a group expressed interest in singing after the end of a music theatre production at Curie High School in Chicago.   Many of the students in Musicality have used this musical opportunity to overcome some of the challenges they are faced with living and attending an inner city school.  In recent months, Chicago Public Schools have made news headlines, unfortunately,  many times for negative reasons. This group  with their fine leader, who also arranges all of the pieces they perform, is making the right kind of headlines.  They are quite the success story and true example of how music education can make all the difference in the world.
