Tim Murphy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago where he studied History, focusing on American political history.  He also received his master’s degree from the University of Chicago where he focused on twentieth century American political history, writing his MA thesis on the role union workers played in the 1980 presidential election.  In addition to teaching at VanderCook, he is also the Director of the Master of Liberal Arts program at the University of Chicago.
