Thomas Madeja

High Brass Techniques & Honors Chamber Brass

Thomas Madeja is an experienced musician, performer, teacher, and advocate for social change. He is the founder and Executive Director of The Chicago Metamorphosis Orchestra Project (ChiMOP), a non-profit dedicated to empowering youth through access to intensive and creative music learning opportunities on Chicago’s west side. Tom is also the director of the New Horizons Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble at DePaul University’s Community Music Division and continues to grow this program of adult and community learners. Previously, he was on faculty at The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) and The People’s Music School. Tom maintains a busy trumpet playing schedule performing with local and international jazz and Latin music artists as well as his own jazz ensembles. He is the luckiest husband and father of two.
