Lisa Hatfield is the 5th grade band and orchestra teacher for all six elementary schools in Batavia, IL. With Keith Ozsvath, she has also co-instructed the Rotolo Middle School bands, and is one of the co-founders and directors of Encore!, Batavia’s leading summer music camp.
Lisa graduated with honors from VanderCook College of Music and earned her Masters in Educational and Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University. She has presented at numerous conferences including AMLE, ILMEA, Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic, and has taught continuing education courses through VanderCook’s MECA program throughout the last decade. Lisa received the “Kane County Women of Distinction” Award, was named a Yamaha “40 Under 40” Educator for 2023, and for the ninth time, her district has earned the “Best Community for Music Education” designation by the NAMM foundation.
