Music Faculty

Kris Sabel joined VanderCook in 2014. She works as the Director of Health Services for a chain of international private schools. Kris teaches health at VanderCook. Her curriculum is tailored to address the needs of musicians as it relates to performance related injuries and preventative care. She further ensures that all VanderCook graduates receive the requisite knowledge and credentialing necessary to teach in Chicago public schools. 

Kris holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree, and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate. She is a member of several professional nursing organizations, and is a leader in her field. Kris is a longstanding patron of the arts. When she is not working, Kris enjoys reading non-fiction books and seeing independent films.
