Barry A. Benson has more than two decades of professional experience that began in fundraising and over time has included organizational management, communications, board development, and other components of the nonprofit ecosystem. Fundraising projects have covered individual donor giving, capital campaigns, sponsorship/corporate outreach, strategic planning, and events. A primary focus with clients has been grants-related fundraising, with Barry’s background in programs and administration informing that work and providing additional perspective and insight. Barry has driven or participated in efforts that have raised over $150M since 2009.

Having spent equal time in Louisiana and Michigan during his formative years and pockets of time living overseas as an adult, Barry considers himself a cultural amalgam. He is a language nerd, avid swimmer, and adventurer traveler. Out-of-work involvements include active participation in Chicago’s literary scene and events.
