Seesaw & Connected Apps for the Music Teacher
ONLINE
November 16–December 13, 2020
Seesaw is an incredibly powerful digital portfolio app that provides a platform for music students to actively engage in music making and for music teachers to create, assess and organize lessons and activities. This mini course leads teachers through step-by-step processes of navigating Seesaw and creating exceptional content using screencasting apps like Loom, Screencastify and Screencast-o-matic; presentation apps like Google Slides, PowerPoint, Explain Everything and Book Creator; and music creation apps like Chrome Music Lab, GarageBand, BandLab and Soundtrap. Creating choice boards, bitmoji virtual music rooms, integrating children’s literature, poetry, movement, recorder, ukulele instruction and more will be discussed. Assessment criteria, connections to standards, interactive drag and drop activities, linking to websites, integration with Google Classroom and small or large group collaboration will help all teachers create meaningful experiences for students irrespective of in-person, hybrid or remote methods of instruction.
