6356 A Hands-On Approach to Teaching Tuba and Euphonium

Join Our Mailing List

Playing tuba and euphonium is a different ball game compared to other members of the brass family. This course covers the essential differences for teaching and playing these instruments, including various warm-up and technical exercises appropriate for students at all levels.  Several tuba and euphonium method books and supplementary materials are resourced, including strategies for inclusion in chamber ensembles. Special guest presenters include tuba professional Howard Pragert. Students should bring a tuba with them for use in class. This course will be held in conjunction with VanderCook’s TUBAPALOOZA!, an event for middle, high school, college and adult tuba players.
