Kicking off the Summer with Some Great Continuing Ed Courses

June 7, 2016 12:01 PM
VanderCook is the place to be this summer!  We are offering a variety of continuing education courses that will have you pumped up and ready for the next school year.  Our first week showcases everything from fixing instruments to learning new tricks in technology.
Dr. John Feierabend will present First Steps in Music,  a course that bridges research to practice by demonstrating how a "natural" curriculum, rich in the repertoire of traditional children's songs, rhymes, games and dances, can develop young children's musical intelligence, singing and movement skills, and expressive sensitivities.
Gary Everett & Bill Rife host one of the most popular classes in Band Instrument Repair.  You'll learn quick and easy fixes as well as go into detailed repair instruction instruments in the brass and woodwind family.
Collaborating together to bring you Boost Your Tech Chops are Keith Ozsvath, Patrick Benson, and John Mlynczak. You will  gain expert proficiency using online tools, software, resources and apps to enhance student learning in your classroom through hands-on activities.
Finally, John Yost presents Got Groove? Drumming in the Music Classroom. This intensive course will give you a working knowledge of the basics of drum circle facilitation and global percussion techniques, including taiko and various hand drums.
You are sure to find a class that is perfect for you with the incredible line we offer.  Here is a complete listing of the summer courses.
