Bailey Lapan turned his commencement cap into a display of school spirit.  Done with high school and on to college, the soon to be freshman is excited about traveling to Chicago to follow his dream of becoming a music educator.  Bailey is a trumpet major from Benzie Central High School in Michigan. He was influenced by VanderCook Alums, Mike and Cindy Eagan.  Bailey said both had recommended VanderCook to him and he was sold.  Mike Eagan and Cindy Eagan are longtime supporters of the college.  Mike had served on the alumni board for several years and Cindy was presented the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007. Bailey stated "Choosing VanderCook was a mixture of me seeking a new adventure and knowing it's the best place to go to follow my dreams of being a music teacher. I look forward to becoming an intelligent and inspirational music educator." Bialey realized early his talent and passion for music.  He says he loves working with kids and notices how well they react to him. In his spare time he also enjoys camping, fishing, playing football, bonfires, and spending time with friends.  Not sure who's more excited about his arrival him or us.
