Wills & Estates

There is no time better than the present to start to think about your legacy.  Consider including VanderCook College of Music a bequest in your will.
A bequest is generally a revocable gift, which means it can be modified at any time. Your bequest can be restricted so you have the peace of mind knowing that it will be used as intended. Or you can specify that your bequest is unrestricted and VanderCook can use it as they see fit.  Another benefit of bequests is that they are exempt from federal taxes, which results in a larger gift to VanderCook and inheritance to your family.
Bequests do not have to solely include designating a specific asset such as a vehicle, real estate, stock, or a specific dollar amount.  You can also donate a percentage of your overall estate to VanderCook College of Music.  For example, you would like to leave 25% of your estate to VanderCook College of Music.  There are also residual and contingent bequests that can be considered.  Talk to your attorney for more details contact the Development Office at 312-788-1131 or
Include VanderCook College of Music in your planned giving and leave a lasting legacy.
