Mark your calendars for the return of WGIcon taking place in New Orleans, LA, on September 10th and 11th. WGIcon is the ultimate educational event for all instructors, designers, technicians, and administrators of Percussion, Winds, and Color Guard groups around the globe!

Course work for the WGIcon Indoor Marching Arts: A Retrospective begins before the event
takes place.
1. Students must attend 12.5 hours of classes to earn one graduate credit.
2. Students will receive access to Schoology (VanderCook’s LMS) via email beginning
on September 5, 2022.
3. For your convenience, all details for course assignments will be outlined in
Schoology.  Students must submit written responses summarizing and critiquing all
class sessions attended. PDFs of all handouts and other supporting materials must
also be submitted with assignments.
4. All assignments and uploads must be completed and submitted by September 30,
5. Educators seeking credit must also register with WGIcon for the conference. Please
visit WGI’s web page for additional information. MECA tuition pricing does not
include any fees associated with WGIcon attendance.

Schoology is a learning management system that allows you to interact directly with your instructors, fellow students, and members of the greater VanderCook community.

Soon after you register, be on the lookout for an email from Schoology with log-in instructions. Once you receive credentials, visit to login. 

Some courses have specific online chat meeting times (please see course descriptions), while others have a flexible meeting schedule. You can expect all courses to meet together in a live online chat. If a live meeting time doesn’t work, you can work with your instructor to make other arrangements.

Online course grades are available within two weeks of the course(s) completion.  If you need a transcript, please CLICK HERE to access the online transcript request form. For a faster turnaround time, please submit the transcript request to the registrar prior to the end of your course(s).


This course is a retrospective. Materials will be reviewed by the MECA office.
