Overview
This course will explore techniques and articulations that promote ensemble playing while acknowledging articulation associated with various jazz styles. These fundamental techniques will also assist with reading notation and interpretation. Educators who enroll in this course will learn effective techniques to choose appropriate arrangements for their ensemble.
This course is ideal for educators who:
- Would like to start a jazz program with students who have little band experience.
- Are looking for ways to move their young jazz band forward.
- Have trouble finding repertoire for their young ensemble.
- Have an intermediate band, but reach barriers when playing jazz arrangements.
