Course Description
Students will build on prior ukulele skills in this “next level” to the popular “Playing and Teaching Ukulele” course. The primary goal is to engage and energize students by providing quick and easy ways to play more challenging material while enjoying the music students love.
Course students will practice: barre chords and playing in several keys; moving beyond “four-chord” songs; arranging music with chords, melodies, and solos; adaptive ukulele techniques and strategies for special learners; sourcing and using backing tracks; choosing songs for specific occasions and goals; creating ukulele ensembles, small and large; and effective ensemble and song accompaniment.
*Students enrolled in the MMEd degree program at VanderCook may register for this course at the 500-level through the student portal. Please contact Dean Sinclair at [email protected] if academic advising is needed.
