Overview

Mark your calendars for the North American Brass Band Championships taking place in Huntsville, AL, on April 20-22, 2023. The event will feature a variety of brass bands, soloists, ensembles, and professional development sessions.

Course work for the North American Brass Band Championships: A Retrospective begins before the event takes place.
1. Students must attend 12.5 hours of classes to earn one graduate credit.
2. Students will receive access to Schoology (VanderCook’s LMS) via email beginning
on April 19, 2023.
3. For your convenience, all details for course assignments will be outlined in Schoology.  Students must submit written responses summarizing and critiquing all class sessions attended. PDFs of all handouts and other supporting materials must also be submitted with assignments.
4. All assignments and uploads must be completed and submitted by May 10, 2023.
5. Educators seeking credit must also incur the cost for attending the NABBA championships. Please visit the NABBA web page for additional information. MECA tuition pricing does not
include any fees associated with North American Brass Band Championships attendance.

You can expect all courses to meet together in a live online chat. If a live meeting time doesn’t work, you can work with your instructor to make other arrangements.
