Teaching materials provided include the Simplemente Mariachi Beginning Level Teacher Edition Method Book, beginninglevel mariachi syllabus, beginning level musical arrangements (scores and individual parts) for the mariachi song styles referenced above, correlated listening examples, historical references as well as procurement information for method books, instruments, uniforms, and clinicians. Resources to use in presentations to district administrators, principals, parents, and fellow educators are also included. Emphasis will be placed on entry-level ensemble playing and singing. Participants will acquire new skills and a full year’s worth of curriculum materials so that a mariachi program can be successfully introduced into a school’s comprehensive music program.
