Overview
This course will provide multiple strategies for successfully managing the non-musical responsibilities of a comprehensive band program. Explore tools to help organize: boosters, staff, student leaders, budgets, fundraisers, calendars, assets, requisitions, and recruiting and retention efforts. Learn to effectively communicate with coaches/teachers, administrators, students, parents and the community.
By the end of this course students will be able to:
- Create a plan for asset acquisition and management (music, instruments, uniforms)
- Organize annual calendars, performances, boosters, and student leaders
- Outline strategies for effective communication with students, faculty and the community
