Michael Gibson (BMEd '05) & "Musicality" - An Incredible Journey

Alum Michael Gibson (BMEd ‘05) and his students have been on an incredible journey together.  In June of this year the nation was introduced to Michael and hishigh school vocal ensemble “Musicality” when they performed in front of a live audience on America’s Got Talent.   They were an instant hit and made it through as one of the top finalist on the program.

Support quickly started pouring in for the group whose story became an inspiration to many.  They truly manifested the power of music, overcoming the challenges they faced in an inner city high school and their limited resources. Since the airing of the performances the group has gained popularity and well as financial support.  Recently, Addidas, donated a brand new recording studio for the ensemble, whose prior rehearsals were restrained to a stairwell.  The success of the group is due in large part to Michael’s dedication to his students, allowing music to serve as an outlet for their struggles and turning the bond of the ensemble and their passion for music into a special chemistry that formed. “Musicality”.   Michael is a two time Grammy Educators & Golden Apple Award Nominee, recipient of the Los Angeles Web Festival Producer Award and a $30,000 "I Love Music" Scholarship.
