Each semester, VanderCook welcomes between 50 and 100 IIT students into our program. These students participate in classes, play in ensembles, take private lessons and are a valued part of our student body. IIT students take classes at VanderCook not only for enrichment, but also to fulfill humanities electives or even earn a music minor.
IIT students interested in taking VanderCook classes can register during the first two weeks of the fall and spring semesters. While this program is not available during the summer term, IIT students are welcome to participate in our Community Music Program if they wish to continue their musical studies in the summer.

For the 2020-21 academic year, IIT has set the semesterly fee at $500.00. This fee covers private lessons on one instrument and as many other classes or ensembles as the student wants (and is eligible) to take. IIT students can take private lessons on more than one instrument in a given semester; however, the $500.00 fee applies for each additional instrument.
