IL Licensure
PLEASE NOTE: The requirement for a minimum ACT/SAT score to be granted licensure in Illinois has been removed as of August 7, 2019. Students are no longer expected to send ACT/SAT scores to their licensure accounts or take the Test of Academic Proficiency as part of receiving licensure in Illinois. Public Act 101-0220
Courses Addressing a Professional Educator’s License
Candidates enrolled in the Bachelor of Music Education Program, the Teacher Certification and Entitlement Program, and the Master of Music Education and Certification Program take coursework that leads to licensure in the state of Illinois. All individuals seeking teacher certification or licensure are required to complete licensure tests (Music Content and edTPA), and requirements as prescribed by the Illinois State Board of Education. A candidate seeking additional licensure from outside of Illinois will need to consult with that state’s board of education about any additional requirements to be licensed to teach in that state.
Every Gift Matters…
Gifts to VanderCook come in many forms and sizes and each one truly makes a difference. You may wonder how a small contribution can matter to the college – how it can “make a dent.” Combined with other donor gifts, even a relatively minor contribution can make a major impact.
