The influence of VanderCook College of Music has reached so many people throughout the years.  Alumni and faculty have traveled around the world teaching in classrooms and presenting music clinics and workshops from Australia to Japan.   In recent years we have built a strong relationship with music educators in Quito, Ecuador.  Led by the ambition of alumnus, Carlos Alban, VanderCook has become a distinguished name among the most talented musicians and music educators in Ecuador.  Professor of Percussion, Kevin Lepper and President, Charles Menghini, have participated in the annual music festival hosted by Carlos and his students from Estudio de Percusiòn.  Alban has also influenced several students to attend VanderCook.  Current undergrad, Jonathan Padilla, will be starting his second year and Juan Andres Torres, graduated on May 10, 2013 as the class Salutatorian.

This month, Associate Professor of Applied Trumpet, Dr. Leah Schuman, will present at the annual music festival and with her she will have four undergraduate students (Paul Cepela, Ashley Burton, Liz Limon, Matt Ingelson) who will serve a two week internship working with a new band and general music program initiated by Mr. Alban.
