VanderCook Alums Receive High Honors at State Contest

On April 26 and 27, Illinois State University hosted the annual State of Illinois Invitational High School Concert Band Contest.  Regarded as one of the more prestigious contests in the state, VanderCook is proud to announce that the Morris High School Band under the direction of Donald Stinson BMEd 2007 earned the title of Class 1 A Champions.  

Kevin Carroll MMEd 1997 and his Joliet West High School Band was named the Class 6 A Champions.

The Class 3 A winner Marian Catholic High School from Chicago Heights, IL under the direction of Greg Bimm were named Grand Champions.  Bimm received the Doctor of Music Honoris Causa from VanderCook in May of 2012.

1 B - Bloomington High School

2 B - Marian Catholic High School II - Bobby Lambert, Director

2 A - Metamora High School - Dr. Wally Parks, Director

4 A - Libertyville High School - Adam Gohr, Director

5 A - Plainfield Central High School - Dan Valkema, Director
