Basics of Mixing Music

ONLINE
February 3May 4, 2020

A hands-on workshop on “in the box” music mixing techniques for DAWs (digital audio workstations). Participants will work through the process of building a music mix, from rhythm section instruments through “pads,” sections and other background instrumentation, and on to lead instruments and lead vocals. This will involve applying various signal processing plug-ins, including EQ (tone control), compressors, gates, reverb, delays, and various special effects (flanging, phasing, etc.) to a number of different musical instruments, as well mix automation programming for the final fine tuning of the been and balance of a mix.
