The Way of Music: Developing Essential Skills from the Ground Up (ONLINE)
The Way of Music provides an elemental foundation for music improvisation, alone, with partners, and in groups. It is well suited for students in performance, education, music therapy, jazz studies, and those seeking to increase their confidence in improvisation. Students begin working with the basic elements of music, developing their skills through non-idiomatic explorations that are accessible through a variety of instrumentation, including voice and one's primary instrument. Reading and writing music are not required; however, students are required to practice with other musicians and submit audio recordings of assignments.
