Campus Parking (see sidebar)

During the fall and spring MECA terms, parking is generally available in the nearby IIT metered parking lots. Most MECA students choose to park in lot A4 - entrance located on State Street, just south of 31st Street. MECA students may park for free on Sundays in IIT Permit Lot B4 in front of the VanderCook Building.

Summer Parking

During the Summer MECA term, students parking on campus must purchase parking permits.  Permits must be purchased in advance from the IIT Parking Services Office. Parking is available for purchase online only. A link for purchase is available on the IIT parking homepage. Parking permission is by registered plate with no physical permit. Parking enforcement will not be suspended on Mondays. MECA Continuing Education students may not park in the parking lot B4 directly in front of the VanderCook building on Monday morning. Individuals that do not purchase parking by 4:00pm, the Friday prior to arrival will need to utilize the visitor pay lot on the first day. Visitor pay lots accept credit/debit card payment only.

If you receive a ticket for parking illegally on campus, please contact the IIT Parking Office directly. The faculty and staff at VanderCook College of Music have no authority in this matter. VanderCook College of Music does not make parking arrangements for students.
