Teaching the Middle School Band
Proper planning, preparation and delivery is essential to the success of a middle level band. Students in this online course will be involved in experiences centered around age-appropriate repertoire, tone and pitch development, rehearsal strategies and techniques, recruitment and retention, advocacy, creative warm-ups, curriculum scope and sequence, and the development of listening skills. You will observe rehearsals as well as record your own band rehearsal. The ultimate goal of this course is improving performance and developing comprehensive musicianship in your students.
