Academic Advising

Candidates admitted to the Teacher Certification Entitlement Program (TCEP) must schedule a personal advising session with the Dean of Graduate Studies. 

Once a candidate's official transcripts have been evaluated, to determine which courses align to the VanderCook curriculum, a semester-by-semester academic plan will be created to assist the candidate in completing the program in a timely fashion.  Applicable courses will transfer if the candidate has earned a "C" or higher.  Transfer courses do not affect the candidate's VanderCook GPA.

TCEP candidates will enroll in classes during the fall and spring semesters and follow the undergraduate class schedule. Registration forms are available from the Dean of Graduate Studies.

A list of course requirements for each track is available to guide a candidate through the program.

 

Transfer Credits

After an evaluation of the candidate's college transcripts, courses completed while enrolled in a previous degree program may be considered in transfer to VanderCook College.  Please see the academic policies section of the College Catalog for information regarding transfer courses.  Transfer credits to be applied to the portion of the program focusing on General Education, Professional Education, and other certification requirements are governed by the policies of the undergraduate program. TCEP candidates may not apply MECA continuing education credits toward their program without the permis­sion of the graduate dean.
