Iris and Morton Manus Scholarship

The Morton and Iris Manus Scholarship is a $500 annually renewable award available to one student each year who demonstrates financial need.

Morty and Iris Manus have been fierce advocates for music education all their lives. As president of Alfred Music Publishing, Manus has seen the company grow from a small importer of music for silent films under his father, Sam Manus, to one of the leading educational publishers in the world. A musician himself for many years, Manus sympathizes with students whose funds for education are limited. “My heart goes out to people who don’t have parents to support their college education. I want to help others take advantage of opportunities,” he says.

Recipients of this scholarship include:

  • London Johnson 2010-2011
  • Monica de Jesus Fuentes 2009-2010
