No previous SmartMusic experience needed! This is an introductory course to SmartMusic learning software and SmartMusic gradebook. Topics include navigating SmartMusic, exercises, repertoire (band, string, method books, vocal, solos, jazz, concert band and orchestra), making a recording, using Finale to create SmartMusic files, vocal sight reading, and vocal assessment options. Participants will have their own computer station for hands-on learning and assignment preparation. The class allows for “hands-on” experience combined with sequential step-by-step instruction for teachers as they introduce SmartMusic into their music curriculum by setting up a gradebook class, scheduling assignments, grading and documenting student progress. Workshop handouts and several class projects are provided for each participant.
