Spend a day learning string pedagogy from experts in the profession. Session topics include improving the rhythm and intonation of your orchestra, composition in the classroom, new music reading sessions, violin/viola/cello/bass pedagogy, music technology, Alexander technique, double bass technique, and more. Participants should bring their instruments for hands-on participation. This year’s featured presenter will be Dr. Michael Hopkins, Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of Michigan. An active composer and arranger with over 30 published works for orchestra, Dr. Hopkins has also performed as a double bassist with professional orchestras across the country. He is also the author of the award-winning website.
