Day of Percussion

Day of Percussion 2019

Day of Percussion allows percussion students to experience a day of master classes, clinics and performances. Performers get the opportunity to work directly with guest clinicians.
This event, featuring percussion soloists and ensembles from around the Chicago area, is a great opportunity to be immersed in percussion for an entire day. Each performing group will play a selection(s) of their choice, and then receive a clinic for the rest of the 30-minute time slot. This is a great chance for ensembles to perform their solo/ensemble selections in front of a live audience.
Day of Percussion is coordinated by Dr. James Yakas, Professor of Percussion Studies at VanderCook College of Music. This year's clinicians include Douglass Bratt, Adam Hill, Bret Kuhn, Andrew Veit, and special guest clinician Drew Tucker.
To participate in Day of Percussion, please complete the registration form. For those interested in performing and receiving a clinic, performance times will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
