Day of Percussion

EVENT DATE: Saturday, February 4, 2017

Registration Deadline: Friday, January 6, 2017

Registration: Online Registration, PDF Registration Form

Participants: Percussionists of all levels may attend, and ensembles of any level may sign up to perform
Objective: Day of Percussion allows percussion students to experience a day of percussion clinics and performances. Performers get the opportunity to work with guest clinicians.

Day of Percussion is coordinated by Jim Yakas, Applied Percussion Instructor and Professor of Percussion Techniques and Methods at VanderCook College of Music.

This event, featuring percussion ensembles and drum lines from around the Chicago area, is a great opportunity to be immersed in percussion for an entire day. The concept for the day is to be an ensemble help session. Each performing group will play a selection(s) of their choice, and then receive a clinic for the rest of the 30 minute time slot. This is a great chance for ensembles to perform their solo/ensemble selections in front of a live audience.

To participate in Day of Percussion, please complete the registration form. For those interested in performing and receiving a clinic, performance times will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

Admission to Day of Percussion for performers and audience is $15 per person.

To register, please fill out the appropriate form and return with payment by Friday, January 6, 2017. School groups should pay for all students on one school-printed check or purchase order. A credit card payment is also accepted. Make all checks out to VanderCook College of Music.
