Participants: Middle school and high school bands
Objective: This festival is a non-competitive performance venue for school bands. In addition to extensive feedback, ensembles receive a clinic following their performance.

BandFest evaluators provide constructive and practical suggestions to help each ensemble improve its performance. Comments are also included exclusively for directors. Each band is provided with written and audio copies of the judges’ commentary, as well as a recording of their performance and a commemorative certificate. After the performance, each ensemble works with a clinician for 30 minutes on the performance music.

Entries for each day will be limited to the first 18 bands that submit the application and entry fee. Once all slots have been filled, bands will be put on a waiting list. We will number all applications in the order they are received for priority consideration. The entry fee of $350.00 (check or school purchase order) is non-refundable and must be received in order to reserve a performance time slot.

Bands will be scheduled in 30-minute intervals beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending with the last performance at 4:30 p.m. Each band should plan to arrive an hour before its scheduled performance time, allowing 30 minutes to unload and 30 minutes for warm-up. We invite groups to come early or stay late to hear other performances. Parents and guests are also invited to come for the performances.

Times that have been reserved may become available later due to cancellation.  If you're unable to come to BandFest this year, please consider bringing your group to VanderCook for a clinic with one of our esteemed faculty!

Once you have reserved your spot, please make arrangements to bring 4 original copies of the score for each piece you plan on performing. Complete information regarding the logistics for the day will be sent following the registration deadline.

Please fill out and return the application with payment or a school district purchase order by Friday, February 25, 2015 for March 25 Festival and Friday, March 7, 2015 for April 7 Festival. Checks are payable to VanderCook College of Music. Credit cards are also accepted.

If you do not hear from us within 7 days of sending your application, please contact us to make sure it has been received and your spot is confirmed.
