Alumni Jazz Band plays the 11th Annual Night at the Pops
Several VanderCook alums come back to the college this time of year to make music together and prepare for the annual Pops Concert. The VanderCook Alumni Band is coordinated by Patrick Benson, Alumni Association President, and led by Anthony Kidonakis, Director of Jazz Studies at VanderCook. Members range from graduates of the Class of 1987 to the Class of 2012. In addition of having this time to reconnect and make music together, members find that giving back to the college is important. They volunteer to play the event, purchase a ticket to the event, and participate in silent auction bidding and fundraising activities to raise money for the Great Teachers Scholarship. Many of the members were recipients of the Great Teacher Scholarship and know exactly how crucial it is to helping students get the education they deserve.
This year’s A Night at the Pops will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the De La Salle Institute Hilton Commons, 3455 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago, IL.
