Meet Our Admissions Staff
AMY L. LENTING, Director of Admissions & Retention
After completing her bachelors degree at VanderCook in 2004, Amy Lenting was brought on board to assist in the Financial Aid and Undergraduate Dean's offices. Fast forward to 2012 and Amy now serves as our Director of Admissions and Retention. The 2013-2014 school year will be her tenth year with us at VanderCook.
As Director of Admissions and Retention, it is Amy's responsibility to guide students through the application and admission process and then, in conjunction with the dean, oversee their progress through the degree program. Amy also serves as a liaison between VanderCook and IIT Housing, working to make sure that VanderCook students have a positive campus experience.
During clinic season Amy also works as our clinic coordinator. As the first contact for groups looking to book clinics, it is Amy's job to communicate with directors and tour companies regarding date, room and clinician availability as well as to take care of invoicing and billing.
In addition to her responsibilities as a VanderCook staff member, Amy is also an active alum of the College. She has been serving on our Alumni Board of Directors since 2006.
When she's not at VanderCook Amy can be found teaching private flute or piano lessons, working farmers markets in the city, cooking, reading, working out, traveling, shopping, or spending time with family and friends.
CAMILLA M. STASA, Associate Director of Admissions
Camilla Stasa is currently the Associate Director of Admissions and Continuing Education at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. She had been the Director of Participant Relations for Music for All (Bands of America) from 1989 until April 2010.
A graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University (MI), she taught English and Communications in secondary schools prior to her arrival at MFA. Originally hired as Director of Operations for Bands of America, her job description evolved into the “sales” director of Music for All. Cam’s ties to Bands of America actually began in 1976 as a member of the Chesaning H.S. Marching Band (MI) who competed in the first Bands of America Summer National Championship. She returned in 1979 as the Drum Major of the band.
For many years Cam was the announcer for the Lake Park Lancer Joust, a high school marching band competition held annually on the campus of Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL. Cam was also involved in video production interviewing and reporting for MFA/BOA events on the video event news reports at musicforall.org. Cam has been the Master of Ceremonies at the Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival held at John Hersey High School (IL) since 2003.
Andrew Watson is the newest member of the VanderCook family and will be working as the admissions liaison. No stranger to VanderCook, Andrew’s ties to the College go back to his high school days at Hoffman Estates High School under the direction of Mr. Bob Erickson. Andrew and his classmates would attend the Day of Percussion Festival year after year. The experience left a memorable impression on Andrew and music went on to be a tremendous part of his career goals.
"Music has allowed me to meet some amazing people, and see some amazing places. I've been able to travel the world, and even had most of my college tuition paid for through a music scholarship."
Andrew graduated from Monmouth College with a degree in music performance. Andrew decided that he wanted to get into college admissions "to help people find their path in life". His two great passions crossed paths again when he discovered an opening for the recruiter position at VanderCook. Andrew is an energetic, articulate, and talented young man ready to meet any student who has identified or is thinking of music as a possible career path.
If you know a student who demonstrates the traits of a successful future music educator, please encourage them to contact Andrew Watson.
