Meet Our Admissions Staff
AMY L. LENTING, Director of Admissions & Retention
After completing her bachelors degree at VanderCook in 2004, Amy Lenting was brought on board to assist in the Financial Aid and Undergraduate Dean's offices. Fast forward to 2012 and Amy now serves as our Director of Admissions and Retention. The 2013-2014 school year will be her tenth year with us at VanderCook.
As Director of Admissions and Retention, it is Amy's responsibility to guide students through the application and admission process and then, in conjunction with the dean, oversee their progress through the degree program. Amy also serves as a liaison between VanderCook and IIT Housing, working to make sure that VanderCook students have a positive campus experience.
During clinic season Amy also works as our clinic coordinator. As the first contact for groups looking to book clinics, it is Amy's job to communicate with directors and tour companies regarding date, room and clinician availability as well as to take care of invoicing and billing.
In addition to her responsibilities as a VanderCook staff member, Amy is also an active alum of the College. She has been serving on our Alumni Board of Directors since 2006.
When she's not at VanderCook Amy can be found teaching private flute or piano lessons, working farmers markets in the city, cooking, reading, working out, traveling, shopping, or spending time with family and friends.
