Participants: Advanced band and choir middle school students selected through director nomination
Objective: HonorFest is an opportunity for advanced middle school musicians to work with a clinician in a large ensemble. In addition to the closing performance of the HonorFest ensembles, the day will feature performances by the VanderCook Symphonic Band and Concert Choir. The bands and choir will rehearse during the morning and afternoon, and perform in the early evening.
To nominate students, directors should fill out a nomination form, linked above. Completed nomination forms should be received no later than Friday, September 9, 2011.
A schedule of events will be sent for all students selected to Middle Level HonorFest 2011. Once selection is complete a $40.00 fee (per student) will be charged, due by Friday, September 23. Please pay for all students on one school-printed check or purchase order. A credit card payment is also accepted. Make all checks out to VanderCook College of Music.
Fees cannot be refunded once student is selected, so please nominate wisely. This fee includes a performance T-shirt and lunch. Music will be issued on the day of the festival.
