Participants: Percussionists of all levels may attend, and ensembles of any level may sign up to perform
Objective: Day of Percussion allows percussion students to experience a day of percussion clinics and performances. Performers get the opportunity to work with guest clinicians.
Day of Percussion is coordinated by Kevin Lepper, Applied Percussion Instructor and Professor of Percussion Techniques and Methods at VanderCook College of Music.

This event, featuring percussion ensembles and drum lines from around the Chicago area, is a great opportunity to be immersed in percussion for an entire day. The concept for the day is to be an ensemble help session. Each performing group will play a selection(s) of their choice, and then receive a clinic for the rest of the half-hour time slot. This is a great chance for ensembles to perform their solo/ensemble selections in front of a live audience.
As usual, the VCM Day of Percussion will host the Midwest Solo Contest. This contest is a great opportunity for any soloist to gain valuable performing experience. The three finalists will perform in the afternoon at Hermann Hall.
To participate in Day of Percussion, please complete the registration form. For those interested in performing and receiving a clinic, performance times will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. If students wish to participate in the Midwest Solo Contest, they should each complete the form for this event as well.
Admission to Day of Percussion is $15. Lunch on campus is offered at an additional $10 per person.
To register, please fill out the appropriate form and return with payment by Friday, January 20, 2011. School groups should pay for all students on one school-printed check or purchase order. A credit card payment is also accepted. Make all checks out to VanderCook College of Music.
