Biography

       Josue C. Quintana is from Chicago, Illinois, where he was inspired to be a music teacher by his guitar teacher in high school, Mrs. Malory Scordato. Josue is one of our senior percussionists that plays in symphonic band, percussion ensemble, and is also involved with the schools music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha. Josue has also worked with some high schools in the suburbs getting some teaching experience. After graduating Mr. Quintana desires to work with high school ensembles and eventually attend graduate school for performance. 

Program Notes

"Fantasia on the 'Dargason'" by Gustav Holst is one of the four movements from Second Suite in F. Composed in 1911, and it didn't receive a public performance until June 30th, 1922. The Second Suite is based on folk and morris dance material. The final movement is somewhat identical to the finale of the St. Paul's Suite for string orchestra, composed in 1913.
