Applied Piano
“Music means everything to me because of its expressive and communicative powers. Being able to dedicate myself to sharing music with others through teaching and performing is a true gift”
Ruti Abramovitch recently joined the VanderCook faculty after teaching as an associate instructor at Indiana University since 2005. She received her bachelor of music and master of music degrees in piano from the Tel-Aviv Music Academy and is currently finishing her doctorate of musical arts degree at Indiana University.
Abramovitch has extensive experience performing both as a soloist and as a chamber musician throughout various cities in Israel, Italy, and the United States. She is also the recipient of numerous scholarships and accolades, including awards at the Tel-Aviv Music Academy competitions, first place in the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale competition 2008, and first place at the concerto competition at Indiana University. A review of her performance of the first Chopin concerto at the Musical Arts Center in Bloomington described her playing as "impressive" and "exceptional."
