Diversity Policy

OUR STAND ON DIVERSITY

Since its origins in 1909, VanderCook College of Music has supported and embraced the concept of diversity. Our faculty, staff and student body come from a wide variety of backgrounds and from different parts of the world. We value the diverse perspectives and unique contributions each of our constituents brings to the VanderCook learning community. VanderCook has always believed that every student deserves a chance. VanderCook is a working and learning environment that allows everyone to realize their full potential.

VanderCook College of Music is committed to equal opportunity and non-discrimination. All qualified individuals are considered regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, applicable veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

VanderCook seeks to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from the academic and vocational opportunities available at the college. VanderCook provides reasonable accommodations and support services to qualified students, faculty, staff, and guests with disabilities on an individualized case-by-case basis and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Because of the nature of our degree programs, VanderCook acknowledges that certain disabilities may preclude a student from successfully completing the program. Prospective students with disabilities are evaluated and admitted on a case-by-case basis.
