About Angela Presutti Korbitz
Ms. Presutti Korbitz has been with VanderCook since 1994. She has a bachelor of music in voice performance from the University of Illinois and a master of music in voice performance and pedagogy from Roosevelt University. Ms. Presutti Korbitz has also studied at the International School of Vocal Arts in Chiari, Italy and the Britten-Pears School in Adelburgh, England. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras and choruses including Grant Park, Park Ridge Civic, the Naples Philharmonic, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Presutti Korbitz has also recorded Les Miserables andThe Phantom of the Opera for Lakeshore Records. She is a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus and the Grant Park Chorus. Her work in art song and chamber music has been featured on WFMT radio.
Life at VanderCook
As a voice student at VanderCook, you will be actively involved as a singer in many ways. You will take weekly voice lessons designed to build and develop your voice, study a wide variety of solo repertoire, and develop teaching strategies for your future students. You will be involved in large and small vocal ensembles, which will allow you to learn and grow with other students and sing many different styles of great choral literature. You will also have the opportunity to perform in solo recitals. Because everyone at VanderCook is pursuing a degree in music education, there is a camaraderie that is unique among our students. The students and faculty at VanderCook understand that music education is about developing one’s personal skills so that those skills may be utilized for the ultimate goal of enhancing the lives of others through music.
