About Dr. Abramovitch

Hailed for her "sensitive touch, sense of line, ability to summon tone colors and a playing which honors the music and caresses the ears" (Bloomington Herald Times), Dr. Ruti Abramovitch enjoys a versatile career as a soloist, chamber musician and educator. An active performer throughout the Chicagoland area, her appearances include solo recitals in the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series at the Chicago Cultural Center, performances in the Art Institute of Chicago’s chamber music series, and live broadcasts on Chicago’s classical radio station WFMT. Dr. Abramovitch is a graduate of the Tel Aviv Academy of Music, and holds a Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University where she worked with pianist Menahem Pressler of the Beaux Arts Trio. She is Associate Professor of Piano at VanderCook, where she implemented the Honors Chamber Ensembles program and trains future music educators in the literature and performance of chamber music repertoire.

Our smaller and more intimate size classes ensure you receive individualized attention and have a supportive and comfortable environment in which to develop. We look forward to setting you on the path towards a successful career in music education.
