About Ruti

Israeli pianist Ruti Abramovitch has been on the faculty of Vandercook College of Music since 2008; prior to that she has served as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.  An active performer, she recently performed a solo recital at the Dame Myra Hess concert series at the Chicago Cultural center. In addition she has performed in Chicago’s Art Institute chamber music series and has had few of her performances broadcasted live on Chicago’s classical radio station 98.7fm WFMT.

A doctoral candidate from Indiana University, she is currently finishing her degree after studying with world renowned musician and founder of the Beux-Arts trio Menahem Pressler. She is the recipient of numeral prizes and awards which include the Indiana University Concerto Competition and the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale.

Piano studies at Vandercook offer a variety of opportunities for growth. In this unique environment, you will not only improve your skills at the piano but become a well-rounded musician and educator. In our weekly private lessons we will work on improving your technical and musical abilities and provide you skills that will be essential to your career as an educator. Aside from focusing on interpretation of standard piano repertoire, lessons will also include learning various accompaniment styles and how to teach a piano lab. You will have many performance opportunities ranging from solo recitals to collaborations with various sized ensembles. Our smaller and more intimate size classes ensure you receive individualized attention and have a supportive and comfortable environment in which to develop. We look forward to setting you on the path towards a successful career in music education.
